TPYK had a great time learning about our native plants this month with Rivka from Beaver Brook Association in Hollis. She taught us how to identify each plant by using our preferred senses and how to document our finding with a Plant Study guide. We also enjoyed using our plant findings in a fun way by making a delicious salad, nutritious smoothies, refreshing teas and yummy ice cream! Being educated about our beautiful surroundings and how we can safely identify and utilize them through our senses gives a greater appreciation and understanding to the amazing environment we live in.
