TPYK is honored and proud to have Robert Vallieres present his ‘Birding Program’ on Wednesday, February 13 from 1:30PM to 2:30PM. Robert finds strength, courage and resilience working with the many different bird species in New Hampshire. Robert is a former soldier who served in the Persian Gulf War which left him suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), along with cognitive impairment and internal injuries. He has found bird watching to be therapeutic and an effective healing modality that medicine and medical interventions cannot provide. He has co-written a memoir, Wounded Warriors, sharing his experiences in battle and his passion for birding. Robert is revered as the ‘Bird Man’ at our local NH Veterans Home and Manchester VA Medical Center where he visits once a month presenting his one-of-a-kind ‘Bird Program’.
