Hi, I’m George. My wife Sally was diagnosed with dementia in 2010. I recently learned about the practice of Validation and quickly realized how much of a powerful tool this technique is for caregivers. As Sally’s caregiver, I was fortunate to secure the services of Krissy Wuerdeman to assess and evaluate Sally’s stage of dementia. Krissy’s work has been remarkable, and she has earned my utmost respect and gratitude for the excellent, rewarding and compassionate Validation work she has performed for Sally. Krissy’s work, spanning a number of visits at various times produced very positive outcomes. She has been able to unearth a “life force” in Sally that has long been struggling to emerge. She has provided me with the feedback I have been seeking and hoping for throughout Sally’s confinement. Prior to the onset of her dementia, Sally was a very bright, active individual. She was a poet, a technical writer and an avid reader. I have long felt that Sally possesses a strong will to survive, but was ill-equipped to prove she was not wasting away as a result of her dementia. Now I feel confident in aggressively utilizing Krissy’s unique approach to Validation in restoring life to my relationship with Sally. Thank you Krissy for making this wonderful outcome possible.
